HELIOT900 Series
Helium? Hydrogen? Either ; ULVAC Leak Detectors
ULVAC's HELIOT 900 series is a helium leak detector with a large pumping speed and excellent convenience.
It is capable of one-person operation and high performance, enabling efficient leak inspection.r
The Helium Leak Detector is an inspection device used to identify the amount and location of leaks during helium gas leak testing.
The helium leak test has the highest sensitivity among all leakage tests, and can inspect even the smallest leaks in a short time with high accuracy. For this reason, Helium leak tests are used in all fields where leak testing is required, including product inspections on production lines for various piping components, electronic devices, air conditioners, refrigeration units, and automobiles, as well as airtightness inspections of vacuum equipment, food and drug packaging, and medical equipment.

Leak inspection operation efficiency affects productivity improvement.
Leak inspections of large equipment must be a two-man job because the inspection point and the leak detector are separated from each other. Moreover, the leak detector has a small pumping capacity, so the leak response is small and time-consuming. Since missing a leak would result in a significant loss of product, leak inspections could not be omitted and were a burden on the operator.
ULVAC has therefore developed the HELIOT 900 series, which can be worked by one person and is much easier to find even small leaks.
The tablet-type controller allows one person to work alone, no matter where the helium leak detector is located, and the results are available on the site. ULVAC HELIOT 900 series is also slim, easy to move through narrow aisles, and very fast, with a start-up time of about 2 minutes and shutdown time of less than 1 minute.
This increases the efficiency of leak testing and reduces the time the equipment is suspended.
7 Features of HELIOT 900 series helium leak detectors
1. High Pumping Capacity
The HELIOT900 series boasts a helium pumping speed of up to 5L/sec. The background drops quickly, and even after the background drops, the background remains stable.
When simultaneously connected to an external exhaust system such as a vacuum system, the amount of helium introduced into the leak detector increases, allowing detection of extremely small amounts of leakage.

2. Adoption of a tablet-type controller independent of the main unit
A tablet-type controller is adopted as a standard feature, eliminating the restrictions imposed by the fixed display on the main unit and greatly improving convenience.
The controller is completely separate from the main unit. The 7-inch capacitive touch panel allows operation at the operator's fingertips.
The included stand allows for optimal layout according to the method of use.
Furthermore, a wireless remote control function with the main unit is standard, allowing the controller to be used as a handy remote control.
3. Easy-to-operate testing screen for user-friendly operation.
The tablet-type controller display is a simple testing screen that clearly communicates the necessary information.
Test start/end, which are frequently operated, are arranged in large font using familiar symbols (■, ▶), making them easy to operate for first-time users and reliable even after familiarization with the system.
Leak testing measurements and results can be immediately determined along with high-definition, highly visible graphs.
4. Easy-to-use mobile cart designed for mobility and fixation (HELIOT904 series)
The following features are designed to ensure safe movement of the helium leak detector.
- Slim design for easy movement through narrow aisles,
- Uneven panel cover,
- Convenient foot space for going over steps,
- Large-diameter wheels,
- Large-diameter wheels, thick grips,
- Foot-operated stopper
and other features that thoroughly incorporate feedback from the customer's work site.
Both the low-floor cart (floor cart) for HELIOT901 seeds and the mobile cart for HELIOT904 seeds have space for the controller during transportation. A storage box can also be added for convenient storage of the controller
5. Improved user maintenance workability and superior maintenance efficiency
HELIOT's maintenance panel can be easily removed without the need for tools.
The internal structure is also designed for easy operation.
Even first-time operators can work while the controller displays a video showing maintenance procedures.
The ion source is a replaceable unit.
This eliminates the need to spend valuable time on troublesome tasks such as filament position adjustment and electrode plate polishing and regeneration, leading to a significant reduction in restoration time.
6. Vacuum method can detect hydrogen as well as helium
Hydrogen gas testing is also available to meet the recent helium gas shortage.
Simply turn on the power and change the mode from "helium" to "hydrogen”.
7. Extensive lineup of pumps
Roughing vacuum pumps can be selected from oil-sealed rotary vacuum pumps or scroll dry pumps based on pumping speed.
