Troubleshooting

Trouble Check Items and Troubleshooting

1. Pump pressure does not decrease. (Excluding leakage from piping and abnormal in the vacuum gauge)
2. Oil leaks to outside
3. Abnormal noise
4. The pump does not rotate
5. Difficulty starting the pump (winter)
6. The oil level gauge pops out
7. Oil blows out from the exhaust port

1. Pump pressure does not decrease

Trouble Check Items Solutions
・Does the oil reach the level? ・The specified amount of oil should be used, replenish it when it is insufficient
・Is the oil clean? ・If it is dirty, replace it with new oil
・Does the pump exhaust the moisture? ・Install the trap at the front stage of the pump
・Operate the gas ballast valve when exhausting the moisture
・Is the pump sucking dust? ・Install a filter trap at the front stage of the pump to prevent sucking the dust
・Is there a foreign matter entering the pump? ・Install the trap at the front stage of the pump
・Is the pump continuously operated at a high suction pressure? ・Change the oil frequently and use different oils for applications
・Is there a piping leakage around pump? ・Stop the leakage
・Is it a new oil? ・Keep operating for a while
・Outgassing
・Is there too much oil? ・Reduce the oil to the specified level
・Is there a vacuum leak in the exhaust range? ・Repair the vacuum leakage of the connection part and the weld part

※ If the solutions above does not solve the problem, check for leaks, and request an inspection and repair.

2. Oil leaks to outside

Trouble Check Items Solutions
・Is the oil clean? ・If it is dirty, replace it with new oil

※ If the solutions above does not solve the problem, request an inspection and repair.

3. Abnormal noise

Trouble Check Items Solutions
・Does the oil reach the level? ・The specified amount of oil should be used, replenish it when it is insufficient
・Is the pump sucking dust? ・Install a filter trap at the front stage of the pump to prevent sucking the dust
・Is there a foreign matter entering the pump? ・Install the trap at the front stage of the pump

※※If the solutions above does not solve the problem, the vanes may be damaged, or foreign matters may be in the pump. Please request an inspection and repair.

4. The pump does not rotate

Trouble Check Items Solutions
・Is the oil clean? ・If it is dirty, replace it with new oil

※ If the solutions above does not solve the problem, request an inspection and repair.

5. Difficulty starting the pump (winter)

Solutions:After checking the following check items, warm the oil in the pump (by raising the room temperature) and turn the pulley manually in the winter.

Trouble Check Items Solutions
・Does the oil reach the level? ・The specified amount of oil should be used, replenish it when it is insufficient
・Is the oil clean? ・If it is dirty, replace it with new oil
・Is the pump sucking dust? ・Install a filter trap at the front stage of the pump to prevent sucking the dust
・Is there a foreign matter entering the pump? ・Install the trap at the front stage of the pump

※ If you can't turn the pulley manually, please request a repair.

6. The oil level gauge pops out

Solutions:Check if the exhaust port side is clogged (Clogging of oil mist trap) first and check the following check items.

Trouble Check Items Solutions
・Is the pump sucking dust? ・Install a filter trap at the front stage of the pump to prevent sucking the dust
・Is there a foreign matter entering the pump? ・Install the trap at the front stage of the pump
・Is the pump continuously operated at a high suction pressure? ・Change the oil frequently and use different oils for applications

※ If the solutions above does not solve the problem, request an inspection and repair.

7. Oil blows out from the exhaust port

Trouble Check Items Solutions
・Is the pump continuously operated at a high suction pressure? ・Change the oil frequently and use different oils for applications
・Is there a piping leakage around pump? ・Stop the leakage
・Is there too much oil? ・Reduce the oil to the specified level

※ If the solutions above does not solve the problem, request an inspection and repair.

Troubleshooting

1.Measures against water vapor

After the pump surface temperature reaches about 60~70℃, open the gas ballast valve (only those with gas ballast valve function) to exhaust water vapors.
If a large amount of water is sucked, change the oil immediately. If the pump is left without changing the oil, not only performance will be degraded, but rust will be generated in the pump, which may cause rotation failure.
Moisture in the oil can be removed by the oil filtration system.

2.Measures for cold regions

When the pump is stopped, flush a small amount of cooling water to prevent freezing and damage to the cooling pipe and jacket.
If the pump is stopped for more than 2 days, it is necessary to purge the internal water by running compressed air through the cooling pipe and jacket.

3.Oil mist

The density of the sucked gas(pressure) is higher, an amount of the exhaust gas becomes more significant.
That is why there is more oil mist at higher pressure.
Oil rotary vacuum pumps are lubricated and sealed with oil.
If suction is continued at high pressure, oil inside the pump is exhausted and lubrication becomes poor, the internal temperature rise and thermal expansion occurs, which may burn the drive part and eventually cause the pump to stop. Please do not operate continuously at high pressure.
