Troubleshooting

Usage Notes

  1. When the electric discharge does not start stably, cleaning is necessary because it is almost always caused by contamination inside the sensor head.
  2. A high voltage is applied to the anode, so be careful while energizing.
  3. Generally, the measurement gas is set to nitrogen, so if the main component of the residual gas is not nitrogen, the pressure differs from the actual pressure.
  4. Since the emission of electrons varies depending on the surface condition of the electrode, the indicated value of pressure changes due to contamination.

Trouble check lists

1. Pilot lamp is not lit by turning ON power switch
2. Meter does not deflect
3. Indication is unusual
4. Meter indicates "0" as soon as it deflects
5. Setpoint signal is not given

1. Pilot lamp is not lit by turning ON power switch

Causes Solutions
Blown fuse ・Replace the fuse
・If the replaced fuse blows out, the repair is necessary
Power cord is disconnected Reconnect the power cord
The power supply lamp is disconnected Replace the power supply lamp
Power supply voltage is below specification range Check power supply voltage

2. Meter does not deflect

Causes Solutions
Sensor head cable is disconnected Check the sensor head cable and replace it if necessary
Sensor head cable is not yet connected Turn OFF switch and unplug power cable and then replug it
Damaged meter Replace the meter
Sensor head electrode is covered with insulator Clean or replace the sensor head

3. Indication is unusual

Causes Solutions
Indicated value is high or fluctuates Poor insulation of sensor head or deformed electrode → Clean or replace the sensor head
Indicated value is low The Sensor head electrode is covered with insulator. → Clean or replace the sensor head

4. Meter indicates "0" as soon as it deflects

Causes Solutions
Magnet is mounted off position Check magnet mounting position
Pressure is beyond measurable range Check the measurable pressure range

5. Setpoint signal is not given

Causes Solutions
Failure of output relay Request repair
Below minimum actuating current of relay contact Minimum actuating current of relay is 10mA
